The garden has been designed and developed as a complete project over 20 years and consists of 6 acres with areas linked by paths throughout. Flower beds and lawns near the house have more formality with wilder and more relaxed parts of the garden further from the house.

As far as possible each part is managed according to different horticultural principles with reference to colour, plant variety and structure. Although there is a wide variety of plants, this is a garden more about design rather than a plantsman’s garden.
